Summer

What's new

Lab spit on my keyboard where he put his head

Summer is coming

meaning that its a great time to train, get outside

Walk along the river

Train dogs and shoot skeet

Watch the puppy retrieve her first bird, her tail straight up, head held high

Panting and searching for water, diving in for relief

Squat and then sit outside and watch the people go by on a Philly street

train and then go, train and then walk, train and then feel wonderful, train, train, train
endorphins or something like endorphins rushing out of me
legs quivering
smiling

Find a bookstore that you didn't know existed

tucked away on Market street, talk of Hemingway and Harry Crews with the guy who works there

He thought I was a meathead when I came in, haha

Venturing to Maryland

Teaching the kids about the joys of eating crabs
Never use a mallet or you are not from here

Studying old books, underlining  my favorite parts and reading them over and over

Hot, humid, humid, loving it. Close as they say in the South

The best season

All About Being a Lifer

What's a Lifer? Someone who isn't in to something for just a day, a month, a year...it's for life. Whether its training or your family or your job...it doesn't matter. You work at it, you build on it, you see the big picture . You don't miss workouts because it means something to you. You are like a Shakespearean actor- no matter what is going on in your life, you block it out when it's time to train. You walk into the weight room and all else disappears. Worry about it later.
