Cool Rules from Colin Webster

My buddy Colin Webster writes a great blog at http://apocalypsebarbell.blogspot.com.

He is the son of the best football center that ever lived, the most dedicated, strongest badass offensive lineman that ever walked the face of this Earth, Mike Webster.

Colin is a fantastic writer, a Marine til he dies and a nice guy also.

He wrote these rules in one of his latest columns that I had to share:

"Get rid of flours, artificial oils, and sugars.  You are now ahead of nearly everybody, and you will feel the difference.

Squat down into a deep stretch everyday, preferably in the morning.  Breathe deeply everyday, for a few minutes straight.

Eat liver at least once a week.  Cook it with bacon and onions, and its good. "

I love that, and he has many more gems in there also.

How about this one?

"Sometimes I wonder if guys wouldn't be better off forgetting they ever read anything about fitness or strength training and just doing what they would instinctually do if they wanted to get strong and ripped and massive.

Lift things, as often and long and as heavy as you can, eat and drink like a Viking, tear life a new one, quit worrying about your cortisol and aminos and fiber and various factors, and do what you think it would take to look and feel and perform like a Viking/Spartan/gladiator/roman legionnaire/whatever is the cool thing.  "

All About Being a Lifer

What's a Lifer? Someone who isn't in to something for just a day, a month, a year...it's for life. Whether its training or your family or your job...it doesn't matter. You work at it, you build on it, you see the big picture . You don't miss workouts because it means something to you. You are like a Shakespearean actor- no matter what is going on in your life, you block it out when it's time to train. You walk into the weight room and all else disappears. Worry about it later.
