Training At The Beach With My Buddies

I am in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for a few days. Whenever I am here, I train at The Firm, a kickass gym . The owner, Paul, actually lets folks deadlift.

On Tuesday,  Tracy, Cristi and I always deadlift. I was all set to go alone to the gym, when my the girls decided to drive down two and a half hours to train with me. It was a great surprise, and we had a great training session.

Afterwards, we had a few drinks(Something called a "Dark and Stormy-ginger beer and rum) for our post workout window of opportunity, and ate our faces off.  Then we hit the beach where my son James tried to tackle the girls repeatedly. I think he had more fun than anyone.

Here are some pics and videos from the session.

All About Being a Lifer

What's a Lifer? Someone who isn't in to something for just a day, a month, a year...it's for life. Whether its training or your family or your job...it doesn't matter. You work at it, you build on it, you see the big picture . You don't miss workouts because it means something to you. You are like a Shakespearean actor- no matter what is going on in your life, you block it out when it's time to train. You walk into the weight room and all else disappears. Worry about it later.
