Walk Before You Run

Every morning when I leave my neighborhood, I see folks, usually from age 30-50, jogging. Now first off, it takes dedication to get up and go jogging. I applaud them for it. However, some of these folks look like they are dying. Their steps are painful. They are overweight and look like they have made a resolution to start jogging, so body be damned, they are going to get it done. I say, lets start off getting the diet in order, and WALK first. I guarantee once they lose a few pounds and they walk for 30min a few days a week, it will be a lot less painful for them, and they wont burn out. Hell, they could just always walk, diet and they will be fine. A fast walk would be a lot easier on the joints, and it's something that you can do no matter how old you are.

All About Being a Lifer

What's a Lifer? Someone who isn't in to something for just a day, a month, a year...it's for life. Whether its training or your family or your job...it doesn't matter. You work at it, you build on it, you see the big picture . You don't miss workouts because it means something to you. You are like a Shakespearean actor- no matter what is going on in your life, you block it out when it's time to train. You walk into the weight room and all else disappears. Worry about it later.
